Choose the Right Degree

You can get THREE different types of degrees at UVSC.

1. AAS Degree (Associate in Applied Science) Minimum of 63 credit hours

This is a two year degree which prepares a student for EMPLOYMENT
This degree does NOT transfer.
This degree does NOT prepare you for a Bachelor program.

Complete 16 General Education credits and Minimum 48 Major/Elective credits

2. AS/AA (Associate in Science/Arts) Minimum of 60 credit hours

This is a two year degree which prepares a student for a Bachelor program.

Complete 35 General Education credits and Minimum 25 Major/Elective credits

3. BS/BA (Bachelor of Science/Arts) Minimum of 120 Credit Hours

This is a four year degree which prepares a student for employment or graduate school.

Complete Associates Degree (minimum of 60 credit hours) and 60 additional Major/Emphasis credits

The type of degree that will be right for you will depend on your major and your ultimate career goal.
